“Breaking the eight years electoral cycle in Ghana, shouldn’t be a mere rhetoric if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) we belong to want to sustain power, We need to put our words in action to make sure the government is very relevant at the grassroots and beyond”. Mr Benjamin Arkaah Otoo mentioned.
He explained further that, the NPP has done a lot in its tenure as government, and to break the eight years political cycle, all party faithful should trumpet these achievements to the last person at the grassroots.
He admonished all party members who are well to do to continue rallying behind those in helms of affair in governance, build cordial relationships with them, help them to do government business to project the party, and desist from running parallel offices with them for their personal political ambitions, a situation he describes as “premature ejaculation”.
Benjilo made these comments after the Chief Scribe, Mr. John Boadu, advised all the NPP members to proclaim the achievements of Nana Akufo-Addo led government and refrain from advertising themselves for their political ambitions at this point in time against the party’s constitution.
The General Secretary added that the NPP has provided clarity on its position regarding the practice of homosexuality in Ghana.
He said the NPP’s tradition and values don’t condone such practices hence, the governing party will not endorse Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, & Intersex life (LGBTQI+).
He explained that the NPP is a Centre-Right political party with clear values believing in the family system, chieftaincy, proper customs practices, freedoms, and the protection of human rights.
He advised the party supporters not to waste time discussing LGBTQI noise and focus on projecting the achievements of the government.
Mr. John Boadu referred to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a Centre-Left political party whose ideologies are centered on promoting such practices the world over hence the loud noise.
