Huge crowd turn up, greeted the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency also the Deputy Minister of Education incharge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo’s final phase of town hall meetings on Thursday 30th December, 2021.
At the Ati Pentecost Church, over four hundred constituents converged to listen to the Honourable Member of Parliament. The situation was not different at the other venues visited.
According to Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, over twenty-two thousand packs of food souvenirs have so far been distributed to the constituents as her Christmas present and expects to reach thirty thousand at the end of the exercise as People Living With Disabilities (PWDs) and other groups are pending.
The lawmaker used the platform to address happenings in parliament to the people.
The Honourable Member of Parliament taking a swipe on the E-Levy Bill passage “bruhaha” said, the disturbances was as a result of both divides in the house’s interest in Government’s businesses and the split in numbers in parliament which was caused by the “skirt and blouse” voting pattern across the country during the 2020 general elections that saw the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs loosing lots of their seats.
The constituents were, schooled on the E-Levy Bill and SIM card re-registration with only the Ghana Card.
She further admonished all to go for the COVID 19 jab for it’s safe and efficient to curb the spread of the pandemic as the Delta and Omicron variants surge.
Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, wished all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
She expressed her profound gratitude to the president of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr Maumud Bawumia, Vice President, and all the party’s functionaries, the constituents and the people of Ghana as a whole for their contributions to national development.
Communities visited during the final phase were, Akyem Tontro, Quality Preparatory School, Avenue A, Methodist Church Hall, Royal Ascot School, Anomaabo, Besease, Mangoase Voice Of The Lord Church Hall, Ati Pentecost Church Hall, Ati Sabon Zongo, Juliet Johnston School, Bishop Oko’s Church Hall, Bleumich Church Of Christ all in Akyem New-Tafo.
So far, all the sixteen (16) towns in Abuakwa North Constituency has been engaged by the member of parliament.
Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, was accompanied by a section of the Constituency Executives led by Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim popularly called Alhaji OPASS, 1st Vice Chairman, party faithfuls and the press.
It could be recalled that, the scheduled three phases of the member of parliament’s town hall engagements sarted 24th December, 2021.
