E/R: Akyem Adonten SHS Wins Big For Ghana At Global ISAT.

Master Nuamah Graham, a Science student at Akyem Adonten Senior High School in Akyem Kukurantumi, Eastern Region of Ghana, who represented the Country, at the just ended Global International State Administration Test (Global ISAT) in Canada has placed third behind Canada and Chile, respectfully.

Eighty-two (82) countries keenly contested for the honour of which Ghana’s champion grabbed the Bronx Medallion.

Speaking to the press, Master Nuamah Graham expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God, The Nana Akufo-Addo led Administration for the Free Senior High School flagship policy which focuses on the less privileged students to gain access to Senior High School Education, the organizers of the competition led by Mr Roland, the Adonten Senior High School’s Administration, Staff and students especially Mrs Christiana Obenewaa Tenkorang, Director of Adonten SHS,The Church of Pentecost Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the entire Area Heads and the District Pastor’s especially Koforidua Effiduase Area and all who contributed his success during the competition.

He implored Government to provide state of the arts science laboratories for the Senior High Schools to make them internationally competitive and added that, he could have placed first in the competition but lacked the practicals aspect of the competition hence his third position.

“I pray Government to establish modern science laboratories for the SHSs, we know the theory more than the practicals and our International competitors also know both, if I had practiced well I would have placed first.” Nuamah Graham expressed.

Master Nuamah Graham said, he dreams of being a pilot in future and admonished his colleagues to emulate and do better than he has done.

Mrs Christiana Obenewaa Tenkorang at her part said, she was bathed with goose pimples the moment she heard her student has won the national competition and subsequently placing third at the world stage, a situation she described as God’s own doing with discipline and dedication to duty by the staff and students of the school.

On behalf of the Adonten Senior High School, Mrs Christiana Obenewaa Tenkorang, thanked the Almighty God, the Global ISAT team, the Ghana Government, the Administration, Staff and Students of the aforementioned school for their various contributions to the program.

She added that, this is the first time a private Senior High School student has been selected after subsequent editions of the competition and has made Ghana proud on the international arena and said, the situation translates that if private schools are giving the necessary attention by Government, Education in the country will see more light for socio-economic development of Ghana.

The astute Director begged Government, to help them with some of the Free SHS placements since they have a lot of space to accommodate the students with half scholarship.

Master Nuamah Graham was welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, by a section of the Adonten Senior High School’s Administration, Staff and Students on Friday 6th May, 2022.
