A lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Dr. Kobby Mensah has made a case for Distance Education in these trying times in the country finds itself.

The lecturer believes that it’s imperative that young people after their Senior High School education should rather opt for work and Distance Education rather than full-time education.

He believes that going to school and having a full-time job is currently a necessity for young people.

It’s not clear why the lecturer is advising the youth to take that direction with their education.

“If you have finished high school and you don’t have parental support, try and get any job – filling station, waiter, barman etc etc and apply to University of Ghana Distance programme so you can work full time whilst you get yourself a degree. Don’t wait!,” he said.

However, with the way things are currently in Ghana and the government’s resort to the International Monetary Fund, the conditionalities could include a freeze on employment.
