JUST In: 14 people die instantly after 15-seater bus collides with Cement truck

14 people have lost their lives in a head-on collision involving a cement truck and a 15-seater bus on the Takoradi-Kumasi highway Wednesday afternoon, MyNewsGh.com reports.

The gory head-on collision according to eyewitnesses happened at Ayensudo in the Central Region leading to the death of 14 out of the 15 passengers in the small GPRTU bus travelling to Takoradi.

The only survivor of the accident is a woman currently receiving medical attention to save her at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

The truck, which has registration number GM 2670-12 was conveying cement and allegedly attempted an overtaking of other vehicles at a point on the highway but couldn’t see ahead due to smoke, a 3News Reporter filed from eyewitnesses.

The smoke had engulfed the road from a nearby bush burning exercise which led to the collision that has now claimed 14 lives.

Police have taken over the scene and have diverted traffic while investigations into the accident have commenced.

The Driver of the Truck who is alive is at large.
