Hearts of Oak reveal content of Kosta Papic’s resignation letter – Citi Sports Online

Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed the exit of head coach Kostadin Papic, just two months into his second tenure with the club.

Papic took charge of the Phobians in November 2020, and guided them to to 10 matches in the Ghanaian Premier League where he won four, drew three and lost three.

The Serbian’s resignation came amid speculation in the last few days he was not happy with attempts by board and management members to influence team selection.

Other reports claim Papic has been offered a more lucrative offer with a Tanzanian club and is quitting Hearts of Oak to take that job.

In a press statement signed by the club’s Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, Hearts of Oak revealed details of Papic’s resignation in which he said his reasons for resigning were ‘partly personal and also the fact that I’m not getting the desired and needed results and I have no hope that it’s going to change”.

The club confirmed goalkeepers’ trainer, Ben Owu, has also stepped down and stated that the U-15 coach, Samuel Nii Noi, would take charge in the interim until a new head coach is appointed.
