Nvidia's market capitalisation crossed one trillion dollars after quarterly guidance far above analyst expectations, driven by orders for the graphics processors used to train and run large AI models.
The company's data centre revenue overtook its long-established gaming business, and lead times for its most advanced accelerators stretched to many months. Cloud providers announced capital spending plans of a scale previously seen only in telecommunications build-outs.
The rally lifted semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers in Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and the Netherlands, and concentrated a large share of global index returns in a handful of names.
