Olamide Oladimeji is the Nigerian entertainer known as Dele Omo Woli.

The name translates literally. Dele, the son of the prophet. It came from the role he played opposite the prophet character in a church drama production, and the audience gave it to him. It stayed.

He works across several roles at once. He is a drummer, an actor, an on-air personality, a content creator and a comedian.

He and Woli Agba met inside the same church dance drama group, years before social media made either of them famous. Dele came in as a performer with a drum and a sense of humour.

When Woli Agba left that group to build his own path, Dele moved with him. That decision, made early and without a contract, is the reason the two have worked together for two decades.

On screen, he plays the straight man. Woli Agba wears the white garment and runs the conversation as a prophet who will not listen to reason.

Dele stands beside him as the man who hears the nonsense, reacts to it, and lets the audience feel the joke land. It looks simple. Comedy partnerships are built on exactly that, one person willing to be the second voice without competing for the laugh.

He is also a gospel musician and a bandleader, which is where the drumming comes from.

He studied Business Administration, a detail that shows up in how the duo treats the work. The brand has survived because it is run like a business, with releases, adverts, shows and a platform behind the skits.

He also works as a compere, and he has anchored programmes and ceremonies in front of large crowds.

What the partnership shows is that a comedy duo needs more than a funny man. It needs one person who is reliable, on time, ready for the next take, and comfortable not being the loudest person in the frame.
