Dangote Industries is considering investing more than $10 billion in power across Africa over the next three to four years, with the group potentially redirecting funds from some planned projects into electricity generation. The move comes as inadequate power supply continues to affect industrial activity across the continent.
For businesses, the electricity problem is bigger than keeping the lights on.
Unreliable power increases operating costs, disrupts production, delays services and forces companies to spend money finding alternatives. For a smaller business, that can mean fuel expenses, damaged equipment, missed orders and customers who do not want to wait.
The difficult part is that businesses cannot always control the infrastructure around them. What they can control is how efficiently they operate when disruption happens. Businesses need to know where time and money are being lost, which processes can continue remotely and which repetitive tasks can be handled without depending entirely on physical operations.
Technology can reduce some of that pressure. Customer enquiries can be handled digitally, leads can be captured automatically, follow ups can continue and routine processes can keep moving even when the physical side of the business is facing disruption.
This is where Auxi Sherpa can become part of the solution. Its AI business automation platform helps businesses automate customer responses, manage leads, handle follow ups and streamline repetitive operations, allowing teams to maintain important customer and sales processes more efficiently.
The power challenge is much bigger than any single company, but businesses do not have to allow every infrastructure problem to become an internal crisis. The more processes a business can organise and automate, the more room it creates to keep serving customers when conditions become difficult.
